Mid-Session: Sensex volatile, broader indices subdued

Equity benchmark indices were trading flat amid selling in index heavyweights including Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. Titan Company Ltd. , Bajaj Finance Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73864.03 up by 11.09 points or by 0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22403.4 up by 1 points or by 0 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74126.79 and intraday low of 73556.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22475.55 and intraday low of 22305.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1124.00,+5.67%), State Bank of India (Rs. 793.40,+2.61%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 433.20,+1.01%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1492.80,+0.89%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1499.05,+0.85%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1647.75,-10.60%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2224.30,-1.54%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3554.00,-1.48%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7238.10,-1.22%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12805.10,-1.04%), among others.



PSU index was at 19524.53 up by 197.73 points or by 1.02%. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (Rs. 2406.00,+4.28%), Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (Rs. 1322.60,+3.88%), Indian Overseas Bank (Rs. 65.42,+3.41%), Engineers India Ltd. (Rs. 220.70,+3.28%), Bank of India (Rs. 148.80,+2.98%),.



Realty index was at 7471.96 down by -105.73 points or by -1.4%. Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1197.10,-4.35%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 3116.30,-2.19%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1439.50,-1.46%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 884.85,-1.00%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1298.70,-0.90%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3980 , shares advanced were 2043 while 1761 shares declined and 176 were unchanged.
