Sensex, Nifty at day's high; Axis Bank, HCL Tech top gainers

Indian benchmark indices gained momentum during the morning deals amid buying witnessed in stocks including Axis Bank Ltd. HCL Technologies Ltd, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd ICICI Bank Ltd and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd among others.



At 10:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74041.39 up by 188.45 points or by 0.26 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22457.15 up by 54.75 points or by 0.24 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74126.79 and intraday low of 73556.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22458.4 and intraday low of 22305.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1105.60,+3.94%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1503.10,+1.58%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1509.05,+1.53%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1110.75,+1.27%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2084.75,+1.24%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1663.55,-9.74%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2224.70,-1.52%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7226.45,-1.38%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12805.15,-1.04%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2844.90,-0.78%), among others.

PSU index was at 19469.77 up by 142.97 points or by 0.74%. Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (Rs. 1364.00,+7.13%), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (Rs. 2422.70,+5.00%), Indian Overseas Bank (Rs. 65.11,+2.92%), Central Bank of India (Rs. 65.20,+2.77%), Punjab & Sind Bank (Rs. 62.29,+2.75%),.

Realty index was at 7504.52 down by -73.17 points or by -0.97%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 3108.35,-2.44%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1222.75,-2.30%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1295.50,-1.14%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 665.55,-0.57%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 888.70,-0.57%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3669 , shares advanced were 2087 while 1382 shares declined and 200 were unchanged.
