Mid-Session: Sensex up 201 points; HCS, Oil&Gas support

Equity benchmark indices were trading in green on Tuesday supported by buying in index heavyweights including Bharti Airtel Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd. State Bank of India and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73850.1 up by 201.48 points or by 0.27 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22412.9 up by 76.5 points or by 0.34 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74059.89 and intraday low of 73736.24 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22447.55 and intraday low of 22355.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1347.00,+3.74%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1497.75,+2.18%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 985.90,+1.27%), State Bank of India (Rs. 775.30,+1.23%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2268.50,+1.16%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1492.00,-3.09%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2941.05,-0.66%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2077.85,-0.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1200.30,-0.61%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3597.15,-0.45%), among others.



Realty index was at 7528.15 up by 188.94 points or by 2.57%. Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1704.00,+5.18%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1240.75,+3.82%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1471.10,+3.24%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1281.00,+2.99%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 890.20,+2.93%),.



HCS index was at 34653 down by -130.51 points or by -0.38%. Aster DM Healthcare Ltd. (Rs. 404.70,-21.25%), Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd. (Rs. 549.80,-5.09%), Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd. (Rs. 301.15,-5.00%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1492.50,-3.06%), Sigachi Industries Ltd. (Rs. 67.88,-2.50%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4004 , shares advanced were 2455 while 1383 shares declined and 166 were unchanged.
