Sensex up 264 pts, Wipro, Bajaj Finance top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the morning deals supported by buying in index heavyweights incuding Wipro Ltd. Bajaj Finance Ltd, UltraTech Cement Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd among others.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73353.13 up by 264.8 points or by 0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22238.4 up by 91.4 points or by 0.41 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73728.18 and intraday low of 73227.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22337.1 and intraday low of 22198.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 464.00,+2.46%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7261.15,+1.95%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9533.75,+1.78%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1046.95,+1.69%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3578.00,+1.67%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 345.75,-1.47%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1517.70,-0.89%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 861.05,-0.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2075.65,-0.35%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 424.40,-0.09%), among others.



CDS index was at 53078.99 up by 695.36 points or by 1.33%. Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1352.65,+4.01%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1498.55,+3.76%), VIP Industries Ltd. (Rs. 531.30,+3.48%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 7752.85,+2.93%), Rajesh Exports Ltd. (Rs. 291.90,+1.90%),.

Metal index was at 30296.87 down by 53.02 points or by 0.18%. Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 378.65,-1.87%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 920.50,-0.75%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 861.10,-0.48%), APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 1547.80,-0.46%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3874 , shares advanced were 2603 while 1061 shares declined and 210 were unchanged.
