Sensex up 613 points; RIL, Maruti Suzuki top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Reliance Industries Ltd. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd,Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Bajaj Finance Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. among others.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73083.45 up by 613.15 points or by 0.85 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22188.75 up by 184.05 points or by 0.84 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73138.73 and intraday low of 72600.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22193.6 and intraday low of 22052.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2995.90,+3.87%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12580.00,+2.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1623.95,+1.69%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7012.00,+1.47%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3719.05,+1.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 731.50,-1.16%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2566.80,-0.82%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 475.90,-0.80%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1588.15,-0.33%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1250.05,-0.30%), among others.



Power index was at 6659.25 up by 112.89 points or by 1.72%. ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 6292.60,+6.08%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 547.95,+4.99%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 5320.25,+4.30%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 38.59,+4.04%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 244.45,+1.98%),.



PSU index was at 18086.95 down by -15.47 points or by -0.09%. REC Ltd. (Rs. 449.20,-2.63%), Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 389.15,-1.56%), State Bank of India (Rs. 730.75,-1.26%), Indian Bank (Rs. 505.20,-1.22%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 200.95,-1.16%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4161 , shares advanced were 1874 while 2148 shares declined and 139 were unchanged.
